Elizabeth Shimei

Dr. Elizabeth “ZZ” Shimei has been a mixed animal practitioner since 2020 and joined Kiel Veterinary Clinic in June 2025.  

Dr. ZZ is originally from Connecticut and earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego. She then went on to study Veterinary Medicine at Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies, Scotland. 

After graduation, Dr. ZZ joined a practice in New Zealand and spent 4 years as a mixed animal practitioner there before working in Australia for 6 months as a locum. Her professional interests include dermatology, soft tissue surgery, client education, preventative medicine, and whole herd disease management.  

Outside of work, Dr. ZZ likes to read, go for forest walks, and enjoy food-guided travel. She was drawn to the Midwest by all the happy cows and the four seasons! 

We are thrilled to have Dr. ZZ join our practice as a mixed animal practitioner and look forward to having her get to know our community, clients, and patients!
